Tim Burton Themed Wedding
Updated: Jan 20, 2019
As they say ‘time goes by quickly when you’re having fun’ and that’s certainly the case for me as a wedding and event planner. I love my job and I love all the people I meet.
I was lucky to be involved in the fantastic #TimBurton themed wedding of Davina and Sam.
I was approached by #bridetobe Davina who had seen an advert of mine about ‘On the day Wedding Co-ordination’ and wanted some-one who she could trust to manage her wedding day for her as she had put so much time and effort into arranging her dream wedding.
I met Davina and Sam in the June and we hit it off straight away and I was blown away by the attention of detail that Davina had put into planning her wedding and I was so excited as it was a Tim Burton themed wedding and the colours were Cadbury Purple and Black.
Our initial meeting was then followed by lots contact via email and phone then we met again to finalise things before we all met at the venue. The meeting with us, the venue and bride and groom is always important to have prior to the wedding to ensure all parties know what they are all responsible for. I always do room plans at this stage so I know where everything is meant to go and I can include it in my ‘Plan of the Day’. This is usually the last meeting I have but I did have an SOS call from the groom on the evening before the wedding and I ended up going to the venue at 10pm……..which I would do for anyone of my lovely couples.
My day started at 8am and there were lots to do as I was dressing the venue with pumpkins and ensuring all suppliers knew what they needed to do and ensure the venue had set out chairs and tables where needed.
The same room was going to be used for ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception so there was always going to be a tight turn around.
Whilst the room was being transformed the bride and groom were having all their photo's taken and guests were being entertained by a lovely trio.
During the wedding breakfast the children had goodie bags to keep them entertained and there were also childminders at the children's tables and a magician too. The children were having great fun which meant the adults could enjoy their food.
Whilst guests were enjoying the wedding breakfast it had started to get dark outside so it was time to light all the pumpkins outside ready for the arrival of the evening guests.
In total I think over 30 pumpkins had been carved for their wedding day and all family members were involved. As the wedding breakfast was finishing we ensured that the cheesecake was placed out for the guests along with a lovely box for all the cards.
So now it was time for the lighting company to install down lights whilst guests were enjoying the cheesecake, tarot card reader and photo booth.
The room was now all ready with a themed sweet table, a band and props for the dance floor. The evening guests enjoyed a hog roast too.
It was approaching 10pm and it was my time to leave and let the bride and groom enjoy the rest of the evening along with their guests. It was an absolute pleasure to be part of such a special day.
I did ensure that there was a little surprise for Sam and Davina and that was a commissioned wedding card by Michelle at New Beginnings ~ Celebration Stationery. www.facebook.com/NewBeginnings.CelebrationStationery
After the wedding Sam and Davina left a lovely review - Just a belated note to say thank you so much for your diligent, unstinting and meticulous assistance at our big day, before, during and after. As I said a number of times, above and beyond the call of duty on many more than just one occasion. If you had not been in the picture I think its not too far from the truth to say the final print could have been oh so very different to what we and all ours guests enjoyed. You dotted all the I's and crossed all the T's even as some of our contributors continually tried to tie your hands! Thankyou.
