Top 10 Reasons to hire a Wedding Planner

I have been asked by many people why they should hire a wedding planner and I have heard people say its just another expense or a luxury. I thought I would give you my Top 10 reasons to hire a wedding planner and actually why you should hire me to plan your perfect day.

 

One: You deserve a perfect day

It takes a lot of time and hard work to ensure that a wedding comes together perfectly, in fact I will spend in the region of 200 - 300 hours planning one wedding. As a wedding planner I have organised lots of weddings and with lots of practice comes perfection. Planning a wedding requires amazing organisational skills and  a good wedding planner will have a plan in place every step of the way. I have checklists, appointment calendars, itineraries, and minute-by-minute timelines and though I often joke about it, they are colour coded too.

 

 

Two: Budget Expert

Money is one of the hardest aspects of planning your wedding. I have worked in the wedding industry for quite a number of years and I am familiar with the costs of certain elements of a wedding. Many people think hiring a wedding planner is only for couples who have tons of money to spend on their big day. It’s just not true! An experienced wedding planner can help you to navigate around all of the confusions of wedding supplier quotes and create a balanced budget that revolves around your personal wedding priorities. Sometimes it just needs me to explain why something costs the amount it does.

 

 

Three: Enjoy the Experience

Whether your engagement is long or short, you should enjoy every moment. Many couples who choose to plan the wedding themselves often feel stressed and by the time the big day arrives they often  just can’t wait for the whole process to be over. A great wedding planner (like me) will help make the entire process enjoyable and fun, comfortably handling the stressful details on your behalf. Most importantly you don't want to be someone who can’t sleep, can’t eat, can’t work and is constantly stressing about how much work there is to be done.

Its my job to deal with everything on your behalf and take all the stress away from you. 

 

 

Four: Finding trustworthy suppliers

There are thousands of wedding suppliers out there and it takes all your wedding suppliers to make your wedding a success. It can be very difficult to know who to trust and if they are right for you which can be one of the hardest tasks of planning a wedding. As a wedding planner I know which ones are amazing and which ones are not so good. I can recommend suppliers I’ve worked with before and can help get the best prices, and the best results from them. If I have to source a new supplier I know the questions to ask to ensure that are a right fit for you and your wedding. 

 

 

Five: Forgetting something!!

The checklists I use can be pages long, so it’s no surprise if you’re worried about forgetting something. As an experienced Wedding Planner I know what needs to be done and I will keep track of all your deadlines and remind you when things need to be done and decided on. You will have access to an online portal which has everything for your wedding including payments to be paid, contracts and that all important checklist. Nothing will ever be missed, 

 

 

 

Six: Time Constraints

Planning a wedding takes a lot of time and on average I will spend 200 - 300 hours planning a wedding. It can be very time consuming if you are working full time and are trying to do everything yourself. Having a wedding planner is like having your own personal assistant whose sole responsibility is doing all the running around for your wedding and to be there for you when you need re-assurance or advice. You'll be surprised how valuable this will be for you.

 

 

 

 

 

Seven: Help to make your vision a reality

As your wedding planner I will be a huge resource for creative ideas. No matter whether you know exactly what you want, have a vague idea, or no idea at all, I can help you define the look, style, mood and emotions you want to create. Part of the my job is to listen carefully to your personal vision for your wedding day feel and style, and then to help your dreams become a reality by bringing my creativity, connections, and experience into the mix. As a planner I know the latest trends and I'm inspired daily by other brides, suppliers and the industry. You will often find me looking through wedding magazines or Pinterest for inspiration and ideas. I can visualise what will work in your venue and know how to bring your vision to reality.

 

 

Eight: But you have a wedding planner at the venue ?

You’ve already found your venue and they say you will get your own wedding planner.....in reality they are venue co-ordinators and they will be the person who takes care of all the logistics of the venue and often is provided as part of your wedding package. They are there to ensure that everything is confirmed for the venue and they normally give you a recommended list of suppliers that they work with. But keep in mind, that’s generally as far as their services extend. As a wedding planner I go beyond these tasks and can help you manage your budget, tell you what flowers are in season on your wedding date, take you to meet the other suppliers, research prices, and anything else you wish. I will always ensure that your wedding timeline includes everything for the perfect day and on many occasions I have been called in by a bride for 'On the day co-ordination' as many venues will not manage suppliers or dress the venue.

 
Nine: Etiquette and conflict

I have put these 2 items together as this is normally the two areas which couples do not necessarily think about. Etiquette is a big part of any wedding and there can be lots of traditional elements that you may not have thought about. I have the knowledge and experience to advise and guide you through the etiquette of your wedding but I will also make it personal to you.

Weddings can also make everyone go a little crazy at times and there can be conflict between members of the wedding party and this could be about table linen, cake or even flowers. As your wedding planner I would act as a mediator and will talk through all the options as have done this a number of years and I can advise what will work.

 

 

Ten: Destination Wedding

Planning a destination wedding to the UK has it’s pros, but it’s very hard to organise suppliers that you’ve never met or even imagine a space you’ve never seen in person. As a wedding planner with experience in organising weddings for couples from abroad I am able to plan a perfect day without any stress to you.
